Before I joined, our product allowed call takers to text with and get media from callers. What we constantly found was that call takers were overworked, overwhelmed, and ultimately needed help processing incoming 911 data. Soon after releasing our call taking product, we heard from another persona that needed similar assistive technology – radio dispatchers. Monitoring radio traffic with responders was incredibly difficult. We brought the same transcription and LLM technology to radio, crafting an intuitive solution to help dispatchers stay on top of radio communications.

Some of our most passionate users were supervisors and QA specialists. They loved the ability to quickly review calls using our transcript and summary features. As we dove deeper into their experiences, we found opportunities to improve their analytics and QA abilities. From here, we built a product designed for supervisors, including custom dashboards, embedded QA forms, and in-platform feedback experiences.

As soon as I started at Prepared, I began working with our engineering team to build our design system Prepared UI. We formed a UX "guild" to evolve our design system and ensure consistency across our interfaces. And I even got my hands dirty, diving right into the codebase with my engineering peers :)
